IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR 2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR!
We have just adopted a new textbook this year, so we are in a transition phase for students that took Spanish I and I Honors last year. There may be some vocabulary and grammar that has already or has not yet been taught due to the differences in books. Please be assured, we will make the transition as painless as possible.
Students will use technology extensively with this new textbook. Our BYOD policy will be utilized, so students may bring their smartphone, tablet, or laptop to class. They will use this outside of class as well. If work is done on the premises, students may access the school's WiFi. Students will need earbuds with a microphone. These are cheap and can be bought at Wal-Mart. For those students without technology of any kind, a paper copy will be provided by the teacher. However, we are trying to go paperless as much as possible to cut down on cost and time. Please click on the Spanish level your child is taking to the right for a full list of needed supplies.
Information for Parents
Students have homework EVERY night. Whether it's accomplishing an activity and/or studying, your child should do some sort of work for Spanish. I try to minimize this to no more than 15 minutes, as I realize they are often busy with other activities (church, job, extracurricular activities).
Please check my website weekly in order to stay abreast of what your child will be doing in my class. I will post upcoming tests, projects, etc. as well as inform you of what they should be working on at home. My websites are usually updated on Friday for the upcoming week. I also have Remind texts for the convenience of students and parents. Please click on the Spanish level your child is taking to the right for the code.
To the right, I've posted PDF files of the vocabulary lists from Prentice Hall's Realidades I and II books. These lists are from LAST YEAR'S book, so they will be used only as a past resource.
