Kathleen Clyde Golden was born and raised in Texas. She is the youngest of four children. After graduating from a large Texas public high school, she attended Tyler Junior College for two years then transferred to The University of Texas at Tyler. Kathleen graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in 1993. She immediately applied for graduate school and earned her Master of Arts in 1994. Her degree field was Speech Communication with a minor in Journalism. Several years later she went back to school to earn her teacher certification. After working in public education for almost 20 years, Kathleen decided to return to school to pursue her Doctor of Education. Currently, she is working to finish her dissertation for her degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Mrs. Golden began her teaching career in Kaufman Independent School District. She taught Speech and Yearbook in KISD for 9 years. Kathleen then moved to Madisonville, Texas where she began working at the high school. There, she spent 6 years in the classroom teaching Special Education, Speech, Yearbook, and Multimedia. Kathleen was a UIL coach in both districts for various speaking events. She has a passion for Poetry and Prose Interpretation. After a total of 15 years in the classroom, Mrs. Golden decided it was time for a change! She moved into an administrative position in 2011.
Mrs. Golden is married and has one son who graduated from MHS and is now attending Texas A&M - College Station. Together as a family, the Golden's raise and show Quarter Horses and Paints.
